A family story, rooted in Athens

Originally called Chick Piano, the store was purchased by Billy Van and Anne Hunter Shepherd in the mid-1960s. After Billy's passing in 1988, Anne led the business for decades, becoming a beloved figure in the Athens music community until her passing in 2022.

Mrs. Pascal, Mr. Chick's original secretary, stayed on after the sale and kept meticulous daily records of store life — a window into 1966 that the store still treasures today.
